Liam has operated in the fields of accounting, turnaround and restructuring since 1982. After a brief stint in London he has primarily worked in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region.

Liam’s career began at the London office of the international firm of Arthur Andersen & Co in 1982. Having trained in audit and tax he began specialising in business recovery and restructuring in 1986, initially dealing largely with business advisory work, bank lead projects and IBR’s. Spells at other national and international firms included Grant Thornton and Baker Tilly where his experience broadened into both bank and director lead work.

In 1998 he was approached to establish and head up a new practice, Jacksons Jolliffe Cork. In a period of 9 years, under his direction as Managing Partner, the firm became one of the leading independent firms in the region. The business was sold to RSM Tenon, a publicly quoted company, in 2007 following which he continued in a role as Director.

Liam is the co-founder of the independent firm, Kingsbridge, which was formed in 2013 to provide business recovery and advisory services across the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region. In December 2015 the directors of Kingsbridge formed a joint venture company with Calvin Dexter, formerly of Cattles Invoice Finance/Aldermore Bank to form Kingsbridge Funding Solutions Ltd.

Experience and skills

Common sense and commercial awareness is a vastly underrated commodity. When trying to find the right funding solutions for businesses, whether distressed or not, these skills are essential, not optional extras!

Liam has combined these essential skills with the business advisory and accounting knowledge developed over three decades, and business skills honed in starting, growing, and selling a successful business.

The product is someone who listens and observes; challenges and questions; focuses on the important issues, and seeks to find commercial solutions to the problems of business owners.
